Frequently Asked Questions

How Does fasttax Work?

Here are some of the questions that seem to come up most frequently, together with our responses:

Q: How can fasttax help my business?
A: fasttax is the national brand of Chartered Accountants offering a CORE tax and accounting service. Businesses can fix the annual cost of the Fasttax service by making equal automatic monthly payments over the year. No invoices or statements are necessary - it is that easy!

Q: When is this fixed cost service reviewed?
A: The fasttax service has an anniversary of 1 October. During September clients are contacted and invited to outline any changes to the service they would like and a new annual cost is agreed.

Q: Can I join the service part way through a year?
A: Yes, the required monthly automatic payments will be simply amended to reflect the part year.

Q: What if I want to use other specialist services during the fixed price period?
A: Other specialist services will always be available on request and the costs will be invoiced separately based on quotes approved by clients.

Q: How can I get a get a quote for the fasttax service for my business?
A: Simply fill in the online quote form and we will send you a quote. We usually contact you first to confirm your information .

Q: What happens when my business outgrows fasttax?
A: Each office has a fastbusiness division and it is common for growing businesses to migrate to that service. Services in this division are provided at negotiated rates based on time engaged.

Q: How can I be sure that I will receive an accurate and professional service under fasttax?
A: All fasttax offices are required to be current members of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Financial statements and other material prepared by fasttax offices are well recognised by Banks and other Lending Institutions alike.

Q: Will you be able to provide other specialist services from time to time?
A: The national association provides fasttax offices access to specialists in every field at extremely attractive rates.

Q: Do I have any recourse should I be unhappy with any aspect of the fasttax service?
A: As a member of the national association, every fasttax office must refer any unresolved disputes to the national office for resolution. A fasttax office arguing an unreasonable position must meet the costs of the dispute process and may be heavily censured.

Q: What are fasttax Fast Rewards?
A: A fasttax client can become a member of Fast Rewards and earn rewards. Go to the Fast Rewards page to find out more.

Q: What other advantages are there in joining a fasttax office?
A: Clients of fasttax offices are encouraged to directly contact any of the Supply Partners to Fast Rewards and earn more rewards.

Q: Can I transfer the affairs of my business to another fasttax office?
A: For many businesses the fasttax office will need to be in close proximity. You will find the same professional service available at any fasttax office. Each fasttax office is an accounting firm with its own name and local profile so you will always be working with a Chartered Accountant.
